MICHAEL BLAZECKA, DIVING SAFETY OFFICER, LOGISTICS & TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT:
Michael has over 35 years of experience working in the fields of environmental science and forestry. He graduated from Simon Fraser university with a BSc in Biophysics in 1982. During his career, he worked as a consultant for several companies including BC Research, Norecol Environmental Consultants and LGL Ltd. He has authored, or co-authored over 40 technical reports for government, mining and forest industries. Michael’s primary focus was in GIS, Photogrammetry, and computer software development. In 2005, he retired as a Principal in the forestry consulting company Forest Information Systems Ltd. Since retirement Michael has had the time to pursue his 42 year old passion for underwater photography and videography. Michael is bringing to Fish Eye Project a wealth of experience and knowledge in the diving and technology realms and is actively involved in the planning, logistics, and technological aspects of the dives. He also spent quite some time in the Arctic for past field work.

Michael a plus de 35 ans d'expérience dans les domaines de la science environnementale et de la foresterie. Il est diplômé de l'Université Simon Fraser avec un baccalauréat en biophysique en 1982. Au cours de sa carrière, il a travaillé comme consultant pour plusieurs entreprises, y compris BC Research, Norecol Environmental Consultants et LGL Ltd. Il est l'auteur ou co-auteur de plus de 40 rapports techniques pour Gouvernement, mines et industries forestières. Ses intérêts principaux étant le Système d’information Géographique (SIG), la photogrammétrie et le développement de logiciels informatiques. En 2005, il a pris sa retraite en tant que directeur de la société de conseil en foresterie Forest Information Systems Ltd. Depuis sa retraite, Michael a eu le temps de poursuivre sa passion de 42 ans pour la photographie sous-marine et la vidéographie. Michael apporte à Fish Eye Project une expérience et des connaissances riches dans les domaines de la plongée et de la technologie et participe activement à la planification, à la logistique et aux aspects technologiques des plongées. Il a également été amené à passer du temps en Arctique lors de travaux de terrains.
